Terms of Service
Last Updated: March 27, 2026
These Terms govern your use of PayToCommit, a weight-loss accountability product operated by PayToCommit LLC at paytocommit.com. By using the site or joining a challenge, you agree to these Terms.
1. What PayToCommit is
PayToCommit helps people commit money toward a weight-loss goal with a deadline. You start with a free assessment, review the safe options that fit your numbers, and decide whether to join a challenge.
PayToCommit is not medical care, a doctor, a clinic, or a treatment program. We do not give medical advice. You are responsible for speaking with your own doctor before starting any weight-loss plan.
2. Eligibility
- You must be between 20 and 65 years old.
- You must provide accurate assessment information.
- You must have legal capacity to make a binding financial commitment.
- You must only join a challenge if your doctor says a weight-loss effort is appropriate for you.
- You must be in a jurisdiction where this type of accountability product is allowed.
3. Assessment and challenge selection
The assessment uses your sex, age, height, current weight, and goal to decide which options are safe to show you. Some goals may appear as unavailable if they would take you below the healthy minimum weight for your height or otherwise fail our safety checks.
You are responsible for choosing from the safe options shown to you. If the information you entered is false or misleading, your result may be wrong and your account may be suspended.
4. Joining a challenge
If you choose to join, you commit at least $400 USD toward the selected challenge. You may choose a higher amount in $50 increments up to $2,000, or enter a custom commitment amount above that. The amount you commit is your money commitment.
Before checkout, we show the challenge details, the minimum commitment, the fees, and the no-refund rule. You should only continue if you understand and accept those terms.
5. Fees
PayToCommit charges a single flat $50 platform fee on top of your money commitment, regardless of commitment size. For a $400 commitment, the total charged at signup is $450. For a $1,000 commitment, the total is $1,050.
The $50 fee covers all operational costs:
- Payment processing — card processing fees on your commitment (Stripe)
- Identity verification — KYC check via Stripe Identity
- AI weight verification — analyzes your starting and final scale photos
- Infrastructure — hosting, database, transactional email
- Customer support and operations
The platform fee is non-refundable. There are no separate deposit, network, or withdrawal fees. The fee may adjust upward over time as vendor costs rise; users will be notified at least 30 days in advance of any change.
6. What happens if you finish
If you reach your goal by the deadline and your verification is approved, your full money commitment is returned to you. There is no withdrawal fee. The platform fee paid at signup is non-refundable.
You do not receive any winnings, bonuses, or share of forfeited funds from other participants. PayToCommit is an accountability product, not a gambling product.
7. What happens if you do not finish
If you do not reach your goal by the deadline, do not submit valid verification, or submit fraudulent verification, your money commitment is forfeited. There is no partial refund for getting close.
8. Verification process
PayToCommit uses two distinct verification steps:
- Identity Verification (one time, at signup). Before you can join a challenge, you must complete identity verification through Stripe Identity. This typically requires a government ID and a selfie. This step confirms you are a real person and satisfies our Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance requirements.
- Initial Weight Verification (at the start of your challenge). To begin the challenge, you must submit a photo of yourself on a scale showing your starting weight. Our AI Weight Verification System reviews the photo for authenticity, scale readability, and compliance with the verification rules. Once approved, your starting weight is locked and your challenge begins.
- Final Weight Verification (the day before your challenge ends). On the day before your challenge deadline, you must submit a final scale photo. The AI compares your final weight against your goal weight. If you have hit your goal, your money commitment is returned. If you have not, your commitment is forfeited.
There is no progress tracking between the initial and final verifications. You may weigh yourself privately as often as you like, but PayToCommit only records the two official verifications described above.
Verifications may be reviewed by automated systems, human reviewers, or both. If we believe you submitted altered, misleading, AI-generated, or otherwise fraudulent verification, we may reject the submission, forfeit your commitment, suspend your account, and take further action where appropriate.
Failure to submit final verification by the deadline counts as a missed goal. Your commitment is forfeited.
9. Refunds and disputes
Once you join a challenge, there are no refunds, no cancellations, no early withdrawals, and no deferrals. The $50 platform fee is also non-refundable. Disputes are limited to alleged verification errors. If you believe a verification decision was wrong, email support@paytocommit.com within 7 calendar days.
In rare circumstances of documented force majeure (such as serious medical emergency, death of an immediate family member, or natural disaster directly affecting the participant), PayToCommit may, at its sole discretion, offer a goodwill refund or alternative resolution. Such relief is not a contractual right and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Documentation will be required. This provision does not create any obligation on PayToCommit to grant relief in any specific case.
10. Account access and acceptable use
PayToCommit uses passwordless sign-in by email. You are responsible for access to the email account tied to your PayToCommit account. You may not misuse the platform, attempt to bypass safety checks, create false accounts, or file fraudulent payment disputes.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PayToCommit LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability is limited to the amount of fees you paid to PayToCommit in the 12 months before the claim.
