Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 5, 2026

These Terms govern your use of PayToCommit, a weight-loss accountability product operated by PayToCommit LLC at paytocommit.com. By using the site or joining a challenge, you agree to these Terms.

1. What PayToCommit is

PayToCommit helps people commit money toward a weight-loss goal with a deadline. You start with a free assessment, review the safe options that fit your numbers, and decide whether to join a challenge.

PayToCommit is not medical care, a doctor, a clinic, or a treatment program. We do not give medical advice. You are responsible for speaking with your own doctor before starting any weight-loss plan.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be between 20 and 65 years old.
  • You must provide accurate assessment information.
  • You must have legal capacity to make a binding financial commitment.
  • You must only join a challenge if your doctor says a weight-loss effort is appropriate for you.
  • You must be in a jurisdiction where this type of accountability product is allowed.

3. Assessment and challenge selection

The assessment uses your sex, age, height, current weight, and goal to decide which options are safe to show you. Some goals may appear as unavailable if they would take you below the healthy minimum weight for your height or otherwise fail our safety checks.

You are responsible for choosing from the safe options shown to you. If the information you entered is false or misleading, your result may be wrong and your account may be suspended.

4. Joining a challenge

If you choose to join, you commit at least $400 USD toward the selected challenge. You may choose a higher amount in $50 increments up to $2,000, or enter a custom commitment amount above that. The amount you commit is your money commitment.

Before checkout, we show the challenge details, the minimum commitment, the fees, and the no-refund rule. You should only continue if you understand and accept those terms.

5. Fees

PayToCommit charges a single flat $50 platform fee on top of your money commitment, regardless of commitment size. For a $400 commitment, the total charged at signup is $450. For a $1,000 commitment, the total is $1,050.

The $50 fee covers all operational costs:

  • Payment processing — card processing fees on your commitment (Stripe)
  • Identity verification — KYC check via Stripe Identity
  • AI weight verification — reviews your live starting and final weigh-in videos
  • Infrastructure — hosting, database, transactional email
  • Customer support and operations

The platform fee is non-refundable. There are no separate deposit, network, or withdrawal fees. The fee may adjust upward over time as vendor costs rise; users will be notified at least 30 days in advance of any change.

6. What happens if you finish

If you reach your goal by the deadline and your verification is approved, your full money commitment is returned to you. There is no withdrawal fee. The platform fee paid at signup is non-refundable.

You do not receive any winnings, bonuses, or share of forfeited funds from other participants. PayToCommit is an accountability product, not a gambling product.

7. What happens if you do not finish

If you do not reach your goal by the deadline, do not submit valid verification, or submit fraudulent verification, your money commitment is forfeited. There is no partial refund for getting close.

8. Verification process

PayToCommit uses two live weight verifications plus a one-time identity check. The steps happen in this order: (1) your initial weigh-in video is verified, (2) you confirm your identity through Stripe Identity, and (3) you pay and your challenge begins.

  • Initial Weight Verification (first, before payment). You record a live video, inside the app through your device camera, of yourself stepping onto a digital scale so your starting weight is clearly visible. The recording must be made live — you cannot upload a saved or pre-recorded file. Our AI Weight Verification System reviews the video for authenticity, scale readability, and compliance with the verification rules (semi-tight clothing, no socks or shoes, both feet on the scale). The timing of your weigh-in is proven by our server timestamps, not by anything shown in the video.
  • Identity Verification (after your weigh-in is approved, before payment). You confirm you are a real person through Stripe Identity, which typically requires a government ID and a selfie. This satisfies our Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, and the selfie becomes the baseline we use to confirm the same person completes the final weigh-in.
  • Payment and auto-start. Once your identity is confirmed, you pay your money commitment plus the $50 platform fee. Your challenge begins immediately — the weight from your verified initial video is your official starting weight. There is no group start date to wait for.
  • Final Weight Verification (about 10 hours before your challenge ends). You record a final live weigh-in video the same way. The AI compares your final weight against your goal weight and confirms it is the same person. If you have hit your goal, your money commitment is returned. If you have not, your commitment is forfeited. Even if you did not reach your goal, you may still complete a final verification so you have a true side-by-side comparison of where you started and where you finished — especially worth doing if you are serious about losing weight and plan to sign up for your next challenge.

⚠️ Final weigh-in deadline — don't miss it

Your final weight verification opens about 10 hours before your challenge ends. You must record it within that window. If you ignore it and the window closes, you do not get your money back — your commitment is forfeited. There are no exceptions.

There is no progress tracking between the initial and final verifications. You may weigh yourself privately as often as you like, but PayToCommit only records the two official verifications described above.

Verifications may be reviewed by automated systems, human reviewers, or both. If we believe you submitted altered, misleading, AI-generated, or otherwise fraudulent verification, we may reject the submission, forfeit your commitment, suspend your account, and take further action where appropriate.

Failure to submit final verification by the deadline counts as a missed goal. Your commitment is forfeited.

9. Refunds and disputes

Once you join a challenge, there are no refunds, no exceptions — no cancellations, no early withdrawals, and no deferrals, for any reason. The $50 platform fee is also non-refundable. Disputes are limited to alleged verification errors. If you believe a verification decision was wrong, email support@paytocommit.com within 7 calendar days.

10. Account access and acceptable use

PayToCommit uses passwordless sign-in by email. You are responsible for access to the email account tied to your PayToCommit account. You may not misuse the platform, attempt to bypass safety checks, create false accounts, or file fraudulent payment disputes.

One account per person. We verify your identity through Stripe Identity, which typically requires a government-issued ID and a live selfie. This is a standard Know Your Customer (KYC) check that confirms you are a real, unique person. The selfie you provide becomes the baseline we use to confirm that the same person completes the final weigh-in at the end of your challenge.

Because each person is tied to a verified identity, you may hold only one PayToCommit account. Creating multiple accounts, using another person's identity, or having someone else complete a weigh-in on your behalf is prohibited and may result in forfeiture of your commitment, suspension of your account, and further action where appropriate.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PayToCommit LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability is limited to the amount of fees you paid to PayToCommit in the 12 months before the claim.
